Birth of a Child
We love to celebrate new life as part of our worship to God. Many people want to give thanks to God for a child and there are two ways to do this.
Baptism (sometimes known as a christening) is at the heart of the Christian faith, signifying the commitment of parents, godparents and the church family to raise and nurture the child as a follower of Jesus.
Dedication of a new child is a way of thanking God for a child, an important moment for many families.
Coming to Faith
We would love to help you find out about becoming a Christian, and the options for being baptised or confirmed at either St John’s, Woodbridge or St Andrews, Bredfield.
Being baptised as a teenager or adult (often by full immersion) is a significant moment. If you’ve already been christened or baptised as a baby, there is an opportunity to reaffirm your baptismal promises with water.
If you have already been baptised, Confirmation is an another way to reaffirm your baptismal promises when a Bishop lays hands on you and ‘confirms’ you.
If you are exploring faith we would encourage you as a first step to come on our Alpha Course at St John’s.

When someone dies
Losing someone we love is often the hardest experience we go through in life and it can be at these times we find we need God’s comfort and strength the most. A church funeral gives an opportunity to thank God for the life of your loved one, and offer the hope of the Christian message to those attending.
