Buildings Update
It is about a year since we started the process to appoint architects to review our three main buildings. We have now been working with the team from MEB since Spring of this year. So far, we have created a Statement of Needs, which includes the congregation’s inputs from their visit with us in July, and a Statement of Significance which talks about the significance of the current buildings to both us and the community.
Over the summer, they have completed detailed surveys of the buildings so the architects now have a clear baseline plan with full dimensional details and topological map showing all the level changes over the 3 sites.
The next step is for them to consider a wide range of options, from “do nothing”, through to developing at each of the sites. This will allow us to consider which options best meet our needs for the coming few decades. Over the next few months, we will work through these very sketchy options and whittle them down to a handful of realistic options. This is all going to take some time, so please be patient with us. We hope to be able to share the shortlist of options with everyone in the Spring.
