Would you like to explore ‘Baptism’ (if you have not been baptised or christened) ‘Re-affirming your Baptismal Vows in water’, or ‘Confirmation’?
We are planning a Service with the opportunity to be baptised by full immersion at 10.30am on Sunday 2nd November 2025.
When someone comes to faith in Jesus Christ, or becomes a Christian, we are told in the Bible that we should be baptised. The Church of England also allows children to be baptised by their parents, if they are going to be brought up within the church, and with the expectation that they will come to a personal faith in Christ for themselves.
This service gives the opportunity to affirm faith publicly for those who have not previously been Baptised (sometimes called Christened), and also those who have come to faith (‘become Christians’), or in some significant way moved on in their Christian life and want to reaffirm the baptismal vows with water.
Looking into the New Year, there is also the opportunity to explore Confirmation. Confirmation is when the bishop ‘confirms’ you, praying for the Holy Spirit to strengthen you to be a follower of Christ as he lays hands on you.
If you would like to explore Baptism, Reaffirming your Baptismal Vows in water, or Confirmation, or find out more, please contact Charles Trefusis, the Church Office, or have a word with him after a service. Preparation will take place during October.
