The Little Free Pantry and Food Bank
Little Pantry Volunteers Needed
My name is Mike Simpson and I help co-ordinate the Little Pantry, which now feeds directly to the Salvation Army food bank.
Firstly, may I say a big THANK YOU to the congregation of St John’s; you have been very generous in filling the supermarket trolley in the church lobby so frequently.
There is a monthly rota of volunteers who transfer the items from the church by wheeling the trolley to the pantry in the Old Vic., for storage, either after the service on a Sunday or on Monday; then they use a little buggy stored in the pantry to take supplies down to the Salvation Army at the bottom of New Street – normally on a Thursday morning when we know it is open; but some other timings are available.
Thank you too to those volunteers; but the number on the list has diminished for a variety of reasons and we are looking for one or two new people to join the rota; if enough come forward, then each volunteer will only need to do it for one month each year; if you can help, please have a word with me afterwards or contact the church office
Thank You
All donated food is given to the Salvation Army Foodbank https://www.salvationarmy.org.uk/woodbridge
